Stigma Reduction Initiatives
Stigma is more than just a negative stereotype; it is a significant barrier to lifesaving treatment. When individuals feel judged or shamed for substance use, they are less likely to seek help, leading to isolation and increased risk of overdose. Harmful misconceptions perpetuate these barriers, making it harder for communities to provide effective recovery support.
How CORE Reduces Stigma
CORE works at the heart of the community to shift perspective from shame to health. We utilize person-first language and evidence-based education to humanize addiction. By fostering safe environments for dialogue, we replace fear with empathy and resource-sharing.
